 Teacher's Day Celebration

Teacher's day celebration was held by the Mechanical Engineering Staff and Students on 5th September 2013. The formal meeting was presided and inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Ranjit Abraham and Dn. Eldho Neelanal was the chief guest. The Department Head Prof. Rajaraja Varma V, felicitated on the occassion.

 

Industry-Academia Interaction

As part of our continuing industry-academia interactive sessions for students, we had Shri. P. Rajan, Senior Scientist (DRDO) on 28th September 2012. Prof. Rajaraja Varma welcomed the gathering which was chaired by the Principal.  Shri. Rajan,  Scientist-F, NPOL, Ministry of Defence, spoke on the subject "Modern Trends in Manufacturing". The talk and discussion covered the histroy - conventional mode of manufacturing methods to latest methods that include  Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) systems. He also touched upon several other topics that include Nano Technology, Sub-micron Tolerance Management and Computerized Process Planning.

Formal Inauguration of Labs

 

A well-equipped Hydraulic, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Engine  and Strength of Materials Laboratories were formally inaugurated by Mr. Babu Jacob (Manager, BTCC) and Mr. Sunny John (Administrator, BTCC) on 24th September 2012. 

 

 

   Inauguration of Student Seminars

 As part of learning enhancement in the technical domain, Student Seminars have been scheduled every week for the Mechanical Engineering students.The program was formally inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Ranjit Abraham on 5th September 2012. In his inaugural speech he spoke on the challenges of Mechanical Engineers not just confined to the field of Nano Technology or what we naturally witness in nature - the flight of the Bumble Bee, the pecking of the Woodpecker and the capability to lift 10 times its own weight by the ant. Later, Shri. Sinaj Siyad,  3rd Semester ME student spoke on the topic "ROBOTICS" which was informative for participants.
